This ‘Ambulance Drone’ Is Totally Wild, And Totally Inevitable (VIDEO)

Designed and manufactured in the Netherlands drone ambulance: a quadricopter resuscitation able to save lives in the minutes before the arrival of the doctor.

Each year nearly a million people in Europe suffer from a cardiac arrest. A mere 8% survives due to slow response times of emergency services. The ambulance-drone is capable of saving lives with an integrated defibrillator. The goal is to improve existing emergency infrastructure with a network of drones. This new type of drones can go over 100 km/h and reaches its destination within 1 minute, which increases chance of survival from 8% to 80%! This drone folds up and becomes a toolbox for all kind of emergency supplies. Future implementations will also serve other use cases such as drowning, diabetes, respiratory issues and traumas.

The Dutch engineer of 23 years Alec Momont presented in Holland the first prototype of the drone ambulance: A medical bag flying able to bring through a GPS defribrillatore, an oxygen mask or a dose of insulin in a short time.

With six propellers, the drone can carry a weight of about 5 kg and in an area of 14 sq.km take about minutes to reach the patient. Made of carbon fiber and the elements produced with a 3D printer of last generation, will cost about $ 22,000.
